The provincial investment promotion working group met at the Ministry of Economy and Finance the previous morning and approved special incentives in principle for 17 projects. Estimated investment totalled US$257 million, with about 1,780 jobs expected.\nHean Sahib, adviser to Prime Minister Hun Manet and chair of the group, chaired the meeting. Secretaries and undersecretaries of state at the ministry, department heads, provincial representatives and technical officials attended. They discussed incentives, preferential policies, streamlined procedures and dispute coordination.\nHean Sahib said global and regional developments, including Cambodia–Thailand border tensions and a US tariff reduction for Cambodia, posed challenges and opportunities. He called for sustaining existing investors’ confidence, attracting new investors and further improving the investment climate.\nHe said the border issue had affected supply chains, production, labour mobility and consumer markets, particularly raw-material imports and exports and production of domestic substitutes. The group should monitor developments, respond to the private sector and sustain investor confidence and provincial growth.\nThe 17 projects include six involving stalled buildings and 11 new investments in fields such as agritourism, furniture manufacturing and processing, universities, hospitals and solar power. The approval in principle allows support through tax incentives, streamlined procedures and coordination services.\nFrom 2024 through August 2025, the group approved 375 projects in principle. Their estimated investment was US$7.891 billion, with roughly 56,700 jobs expected. The total includes 176 projects involving stalled buildings, 161 new projects, 25 expansions and 13 existing projects.\nThe group urged domestic and foreign investors to apply for incentives and assistance through its Preah Sihanouk and Phnom Penh offices.\nCompiled by Preah Sihanouk Provincial Television.","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"1","publishedWorkingVersionId":"18780","languageVersionId":"19356","visibilityVersion":"2","versionToken":"a1.NBKUzS7bSICfPY9EckxlLmGCVSJFBv2K5sZnom-zASI"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"zh","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"183","authorText":"","sourceName":""},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2025-08-27T04:04:12Z"}
