Preah Sihanouk opened five exam centres on August 28 for 2,257 registered candidates, with police and gendarmes providing security.

High school diploma exams began on the morning of August 28. All five centres in Sihanoukville and Prey Nob district reported calm conditions, with police and gendarmes providing security.
Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction Secretary of State សុខ គាង and Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth opened the exam packets that morning at Hun Sen Mittapheap High School in Sihanoukville’s Sangkat 4. The written exams were scheduled for August 28–29.
Mang Sineth urged candidates to make the most of what they had learnt over 12 years. He wished them a pass and an A grade, saying candidates who achieved an A would receive rewards from the provincial administration and the head of the central government working group for Preah Sihanouk.
He said the exam packets were securely sealed and showed no tears. Exam committee personnel took part in checking the packets, and candidates signed their exam papers.
Provincial Education, Youth and Sport Department director អ៊ុច សោភា said 2,257 candidates, including 1,164 girls, had registered across five centres and 93 rooms. The science stream had 474 candidates, including 273 girls, in two centres and 20 rooms. The social sciences stream had 1,783 candidates, including 891 girls, in three centres and 73 rooms. There were four exam committee personnel, including two women, eight anti-corruption officials, 11 exam monitors including three women, and 51 assistant monitors including 40 women.
