The station reported that Cambodia sent its first shipment of 1,100 live crocodiles to China in February 2025. Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin said on his official Facebook page that Cambodian farmers saw China as an important export market for reviving the industry.
The report said Cambodia first received permission in February to export live crocodiles to China. Shipments first had to meet applicable standards and the requirements of CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. The report said a successful first shipment could open a large market and bring economic benefits to Cambodian farmers.
