The transport ministry is refining a 161-article draft aimed at improving logistics oversight and lowering costs.

Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport is drafting a logistics law. The ministry sees it as a tool for economic growth and for pursuing the government’s 2030 middle-income and 2050 high-income goals.
Ministry Secretary of State ហេង ណន chaired the fourth consultation workshop on the draft on August 28.
The draft contains 15 chapters and 161 articles. It reflects feedback from government, the private sector and development partners and, the station reported, has their support.
The secretary of state said participants offered further input and recognised the law’s potential to help stakeholders make logistics more efficient, effective, safe and sustainable. He said it could open up investment opportunities and support fair and transparent competition in domestic and international trade.
The workshop reviewed proposed revisions to make the draft more comprehensive. It aimed to strengthen oversight and resilience, introduce common standards, cut logistics costs, promote good practices, improve competitiveness and build public confidence.
