A visiting US congressional delegation expressed support for the ceasefire and continued monitoring in August 28 talks with Hun Manet.

The US congressional delegation said the United States supported the Cambodia–Thailand ceasefire and a return to peace and stability, and would continue monitoring implementation.
The delegation made the remarks during talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace on August 28. Texas Representative Beth Van Duyne led the delegation, joined by Georgia Representative Richard McCormick and Virginia Representative Suhas Subramanyam.
Hun Manet told Van Duyne that Cambodia thanked US President Donald Trump for mediating and helping Cambodia and Thailand reach a ceasefire quickly.
Hun Manet said the ceasefire had saved many lives. Cambodia nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in response to appeals from Cambodians at home and abroad and to thank him for his personal role in advancing the ceasefire.
Hun Manet briefed the delegation on developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border and on implementation of the ceasefire, with the aim of restoring relations between the two countries.
