The Monument to the People’s Heroes faces the Tiananmen Gate across Chang’an Avenue, and the layout is symmetrical along the main route. Temporary stands near the avenue seat about 37,000. With seats along the street, the total capacity on parade day exceeds 50,000.\nRed, yellow and green dominate. Seats are arranged diagonally along the main route, with red echoing the walls, flags and flowerbeds. The anniversary displays and landscaping share the palette.
