The Labour Ministry said returnees were offered work opportunities through the government and private sector by August 30.

About 190,000 Cambodian residents and workers returning from Thailand had received job opportunities by August 30 through the Labour Ministry and private employers after local outreach, the station reported.
Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, said about 190,000 recent returnees had received job opportunities through the ministry and private sector as of August 30, 2025.
He said the Cambodia–Thailand border dispute had left Cambodian workers in Thailand worried about their safety and prompted them to leave in waves. The ministry launched an outreach campaign to bring new work opportunities to their communities and support their livelihoods.
The government was working through the Labour Ministry to support residents and recent returnees by connecting them promptly with employment opportunities, Sun Mesa said.
The ministry instructed the National Employment Agency (NEA) and relevant officials to collect staffing needs from businesses and institutions of all sizes nationwide, publicise the openings in local communities and station staff at Cambodia–Thailand border crossings.
The ministry described Cambodia’s 2025 labour market as improving, with strong demand in accommodation and food service, manufacturing, electrical and electronic equipment, textiles and garments, footwear, travel goods and bags, education, finance and insurance, ICT, transport and warehousing, and construction.
