AIIB President Jin Liqun told Hun Manet the bank was interested in social infrastructure projects in Cambodia, particularly modern education.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) expressed interest in cooperating on social infrastructure, especially modern education in Cambodia. Prime Minister Hun Manet met Jin Liqun, chair of the bank’s board of directors and its president, on August 31 during a trip to Tianjin for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Plus summit activities. The source dates that trip from August 30 to September 1. Jin said the bank was also pleased to continue working with Cambodia on key projects.
Hun Manet welcomed the bank’s search for opportunities in Cambodia and encouraged it to work closely with relevant ministries and agencies on further practical cooperation.
He said physical infrastructure, including roads and bridges, remained a priority. He outlined government efforts such as new international airports and the Funan Techo Canal to support industrial and logistics development.
Hun Manet said successive Cambodian governments had made quality human capital a priority. They had pursued education reform from primary through high school, vocational training and stronger health facilities at all levels, especially local services.
He stressed that developing human capital with practical vocational skills was a long-term investment to meet current and future industrial needs.
