Agriculture officials visited a Kandal smart farm on September 2 and discussed plans for a six-hectare safe-vegetable centre.

Agriculture Ministry Secretary of State Hean Vanhan said the Smart Farm programme was designed for Cambodia’s social and economic conditions and to help farmers grow more vegetables under adverse climate conditions.
He made the remarks on September 2, 2025 while leading a visit to the smart farm at the Dei Edth fruit and ornamental plant research station in Popeal village, Dei Edth commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal.
The team also visited the Banteay Dek agricultural research station in Prek Pol village, Banteay Dek commune in the same district, where Cambodian hybrid maize is studied and produced. It discussed a six-hectare safe-vegetable centre at the station with the technical team of ត្រូភីខេម ច្រូត អេន វេជីថេប៊ល ឯ.ក, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Agriculture. The model centre would use modern methods to supply safe vegetables that meet market demand and serve as a site for learning, exchange and new techniques.
