Worker representatives proposed a US$10 increase from US$208 for 2026. Employers sought to keep the current rate, with talks set to resume September 10.

Cambodia’s National Council on Minimum Wage continued tripartite talks on the 2026 minimum wage for the textile, garment, footwear, travel goods and bag industries. Worker representatives proposed a US$10 increase, and employers sought to keep the wage at US$208.
Labour and Vocational Training Minister Heng Suor, who chairs the council, led the meeting at the ministry on the morning of September 3.
Eleven negotiation meetings had taken place: two tripartite sessions, three bilateral sessions and three internal meetings each for the worker and employer representatives.
The Labour Ministry said both sides continued to explain their positions professionally and constructively. Government representatives kept facilitating the discussions and clarified the social and economic criteria for both sides.
The ministry said workers proposed adding US$10 to the current US$208 wage, while employers proposed keeping it at US$208. The meeting agreed to resume tripartite discussions on September 10, 2025.
