The devices may not be circulated, sold or used in the province without authorisation.\nThe notice said inspections had uncovered the use of fake base stations to send bulk text messages promoting gambling and illegal loans, along with other spam. It said the messages disrupted communications, harmed users and affected public safety.\nThe provincial administration issued the following instructions:\nBusinesses and communications-equipment importers, suppliers and distributors must immediately stop importing, selling or distributing Fake BTS devices without approval from the telecommunications regulator.\nInstalling or using the devices in buildings, homes, hotels, casinos or vehicles is prohibited.\nAny organisation or person who has installed such a device must stop using it immediately and hand it over to the competent authorities.\nThe provincial administration also urged the public to stay alert, avoid opening or responding to gambling or illegal-loan messages, and avoid links of unknown origin to protect personal information and money.\nThe notice listed the following reporting channels:\nTelecommunication Regulator of Cambodia hotline: 6789.\nPreah Sihanouk Provincial Department of Posts and Telecommunications: 012 978 815 or 016 696 270.\nThe notice called on residents and all parties concerned to comply and cooperate in efforts against fake base stations to maintain a lawful, safe and orderly communications environment.","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"1","publishedWorkingVersionId":"18613","languageVersionId":"18855","visibilityVersion":"2","versionToken":"a1.YukguM9CFmQXygKADl_wcghBFcYVgY2ev6FOsmXR3XE"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"zh","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"183","authorText":"","sourceName":""},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2025-09-06T08:00:00Z"}
