A Cambodian culture ministry official highlighted Cambodia–China cooperation, distribution and tourism promotion.","body":"Phnom Penh — Cambodia, China and several other countries joined efforts to promote film production cooperation in Asia and Southeast Asia. The Film Industry Forum, held on the morning of September 6, 2025, at រោងភាពយន្តហ្វេប៊ល in Phnom Penh, provided a platform for industry knowledge and experience sharing.\nGuest speakers from across Asia brought years of experience in the film industry.\nជៀប សុវិជ្ជា, Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema Arts and Cultural Dissemination at the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, said the forum gave participants new knowledge and experience. It focused on the Asian and Southeast Asian film industries and included Asian experts, international film festival specialists, Chinese producers and representatives of Chinese government institutions working on film.\nHe said the forum benefited film production for a new generation of viewers, particularly potential films showcasing Cambodian culture. Regional co-production, especially with China, can help technical teams, actors and writers share experience and promote productions that make the film potential of both regions better known worldwide.\n“China’s film market is large and has many viewers, drawing attention from smaller countries elsewhere in Asia. We can partner with China in production. A film co-produced by Cambodia and China can have dual nationality, screen in both countries and enter the Chinese market. China’s global partners could distribute it around the world.”\nHe said Cambodia and China had begun co-producing films to enter the Chinese market and planned to sign a memorandum of understanding encouraging more Chinese producers to work in Cambodia.\n“When we co-produce with China, films promote tourist destinations. The Chinese side pays for labour, including actors, producers and technicians, helping the economy. Screenings in China and around the world can promote our destinations and attract more Chinese and international visitors to Cambodia.”\nThe forum was part of the third Cambodia–Asia Film Festival, held from September 4 to 8, 2025, in cooperation between the Department of Cinema Arts and Cultural Dissemination and the Cambodia–Asia Film Festival organising committee (CAFF).\nSource: Club of Cambodian Journalists\nEdited by: ចិន្តា ទីទិ","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"1","publishedWorkingVersionId":"18596","languageVersionId":"18804","visibilityVersion":"2","versionToken":"a1.cF5CicUUtox3ovI53w6K48OmX-I-tMKRrbl0djsv6S0"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"km","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"12","authorText":"","sourceName":""},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2025-09-07T03:48:16Z"}
