October wages must be paid before the holiday.\nThis is according to a Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training notice on the Water Festival, including boat races, illuminated floats, moon worship and the eating of flattened rice.\nThe notice calls on owners and directors of enterprises, companies and factories covered by the Labour Law to allow three days of paid leave and arrange wage payments before the holiday.\nWhere rotating shifts cannot keep a business operating, employers and worker representatives may discuss and agree to work throughout the holiday and take substitute leave at another time.\nWorkers who do not receive the required paid leave may contact the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training's hotline.\nThe ministry expressed the hope that employers would comply with the notice.\nPreah Sihanouk Provincial Television.
