Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) conducted a surprise inspection at Sino-Thai Tower in Bangkok on the morning of October 24 and questioned two Thai shareholders of Prince International Co., Ltd. to determine whether the company had links to the case involving Chen Zhi, founder of Cambodia’s Prince Group.
The operation was led by DSI Deputy Director-General Police Captain 维萨努 and Justice Affairs Division Director 安素凯, together with enforcement officers from the Commerce Ministry’s Department of Business Development. Investigators met shareholders 普里塔瓦 and 武提猜, focusing on the sources of the company’s business, its operations and potential links to Prince Group, and recorded their statements and documents they voluntarily submitted. If links are found, DSI will further investigate the nature of the business, the timing of cooperation and any existing relationships.
Prince International Co., Ltd. was registered in Thailand in September 2022 with capital of 2 million baht and currently operates as a real-estate broker. Its sole director is a Taiwanese national identified in the report by the phonetic Chinese name 王宇堂, while the other shareholders are Thai citizens. The company previously changed its business several times, moving from selling Japanese goods to real-estate brokerage. Financial reports show that its operations have been limited in recent years and that it remains loss-making.
Prince International currently rents office space on the seventh floor of Sino-Thai Tower. The building’s owner, HTR Co., Ltd., has publicly clarified that Prince International is only a tenant, mainly providing local real-estate brokerage services, and has no direct connection to Cambodia’s Prince Group or the case involving Chen Zhi.
DSI said the investigation is a routine evidence-gathering procedure intended to clarify the company’s ownership and money flows and prevent cross-border money laundering or associated companies from using Thailand’s financial system for illegal activities. The findings will be included in Thailand’s comprehensive review report on the Chen Zhi case.
