The Interior Ministry said police investigated and referred 42 money-laundering cases involving 129 people to court in the first nine months of 2025, mostly linked to drug offences.

Interior Ministry spokesperson Touch Sokhak said police had investigated and referred 42 money-laundering cases to court during the first nine months of 2025.
Police investigated 145 predicate-offence cases, including 140 drug cases and one economic crime case. They identified 77 suspected money-laundering activities and submitted 42 money-laundering case files involving 129 people to court, most relating to drug offences.
He said money-laundering methods were becoming increasingly complex and varied worldwide. Cambodia was strengthening cooperation with other countries at bilateral, multilateral, regional and global levels against money laundering and terrorist financing.
The Paris-based Financial Action Task Force removed Cambodia from its grey list in February 2023, after the country had been listed since 2019.
Interior Minister Sar Sokha pledged continued efforts to prevent Cambodia returning to the list, including action against money laundering, online scams and human trafficking. He said these efforts were intended to protect the transparency and security of the financial system.
