Information Minister Neth Pheaktra said on December 8 that attacks had killed at least four Cambodian civilians and injured nine, who were receiving emergency treatment. Continued shelling forced tens of thousands to leave for safer areas.

On the afternoon of December 8, Cambodian Information Minister Neth Pheaktra confirmed to the media that Thai military attacks in several areas along the Cambodia–Thailand border that day had killed at least four Cambodian civilians and injured nine. Medical teams were providing emergency treatment to the injured.
The conflict sharply worsened the local situation and seriously threatened residents of several border villages. Continued shelling forced tens of thousands of people to leave their homes and urgently evacuate to safer areas to avoid possible further escalation of cross-border attacks.
