A senior Cambodian officer alleged greater Thai losses but gave no figures.","body":"Cambodian defence officials responded on December 10 to a claim by Thailand’s Second Army Region that 61 Cambodian soldiers had died in fighting on December 9, saying the figure was false and describing it as psychological warfare and disinformation. Cambodian officials said Thai forces were spreading false information to manipulate public opinion and create a narrative unfavourable to Cambodia.\n\nA senior Cambodian military officer told local media that the actual battlefield situation was completely different from Thailand’s portrayal and that Thai forces had suffered greater losses than publicly acknowledged in recent clashes, including substantial casualties, but declined to disclose precise figures. The officer called the Thai account of Cambodian casualties entirely fabricated and intended to mislead Thailand’s public: “These are not the real battlefield conditions, but deliberately manufactured false reports.”\n\nThe officer said the Cambodian Defence Ministry would not respond to invented figures and urged Thai military officials to communicate responsibly. Criticising misleading Thai military statements, he said officials “should not deceive their own people, but should face their actual losses in the conflict and properly handle the remains of fallen soldiers.”\nKPS99TV compiled report.","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"1","publishedWorkingVersionId":"17226","languageVersionId":"15399","visibilityVersion":"2","versionToken":"a1.gcCXbHLZWQSgSjTH6huKc-rIf02lP8b21awFd2Wf4H4"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"zh","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"172","authorText":"","sourceName":"KPS99TV"},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2025-12-10T03:49:11Z"}
