Cambodia’s National Olympic Committee confirmed on December 10 that its delegation had withdrawn from the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand and begun return procedures following safety concerns raised by family members.

Cambodia’s National Olympic Committee announced on December 10 that its delegation had formally withdrawn from the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand and had begun arrangements to return home.

The report said families had expressed concern about regional tensions and the athletes’ safety. Following an assessment, the committee decided to end participation immediately and prioritise the delegation’s safety.

The Games were scheduled for December 9–20 in Thailand. The report said Cambodia had previously intended to continue competing, but rising tensions changed that decision. Cambodian officials said they would continue to follow the Games and thanked those who had supported the athletes’ safety.
