Developing and introducing the system is intended to give insurance customers a convenient complaints mechanism and promote insurance technology, or InsurTech, in line with Phase One of the Pentagonal Strategy.\nBou Chanphirou said online insurance complaints received by the regulator have increased year by year since 2022. It received 22 complaints in 2024, approximately three times the number in 2023. In the first half of 2025, it had already received 22 online insurance complaints. He said this indicated growing public understanding of insurance, particularly the regulator’s online complaints mechanism, and expressed hope that the online dispute-resolution mechanism would be used more widely in future.\nAccording to a report from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia, the market was forecast to reach approximately US$375 million in gross insurance premiums by the end of 2025. There were 35 insurers: 12 life insurers, 17 general insurers, five microinsurance companies and one reinsurer. However, the sector’s economic contribution and insurance density remained low compared with the region. The report indicated substantial development potential alongside challenges requiring solutions. The main challenge was a lack of public confidence in service quality, linked to insufficient mechanisms through which people could complain and obtain appropriate, clear and trustworthy remedies.\nSource: Club of Cambodian Journalists\nAdapted by: Chinda Titi","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"1","publishedWorkingVersionId":"17212","languageVersionId":"15357","visibilityVersion":"2","versionToken":"a1.Py-M5IQA9rVGJTrH17vZpVaTQQbQFR-_wo1pLUQG1ew"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"km","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"12","authorText":"","sourceName":"KPS99TV"},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2025-12-11T06:51:56Z"}
