The statement, issued this week by several countries including the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and South Korea, called on all United Nations member states to fully implement U.N. sanctions resolutions banning the employment of North Korean workers and military cooperation with the country.

North Korea strongly condemned a joint statement by a group of countries imposing sanctions on it, calling the move a serious violation of its sovereignty, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on October 31.
The statement, issued this week by several countries including the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and South Korea, called on all United Nations member states to fully implement U.N. sanctions resolutions banning the employment of North Korean workers and military cooperation with the country.
KCNA quoted a spokesperson for North Korea’s Foreign Ministry as saying that sanctions and pressure might work only on weak countries but could never break North Korea’s resolve. The repeated sanctions tactics of the United States and the West could neither change nor affect the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s status as a nuclear weapons state. Text: Rithy
