Construction starts on $30 million garment factory in Svay Rieng

A garment factory belonging to ខេមបូឌា ហ័រជយ ថេកស្តាយ ឯ.ក officially broke ground in the Qilu Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng city on the morning of August 30, 2025. Svay Rieng Governor ប៉េង ពោធិ៍សា presided over the ceremony. The governor said construction of the factory for the company in Qilu was a source of pride for the company, the province and the country, and a sign of trust, cooperation and shared prosperity between Cambodia and its investors. He said the factory would bring economic benefits, create more than 2,000 jobs, expand the local industrial base and contribute to national development. ប៉េង ពោធិ៍សា said the investment supported the Cambodian government’s strategy to promote industrial growth, attract responsible foreign direct investment and strengthen Cambodia’s place in global supply chains. The governor voiced support for the project. He hoped it would proceed smoothly and said provincial authorities stood ready to help with difficulties during construction or after operations began.
