Koh Rong — A clean-water system reported to be worth over US$6,000 was handed over to Sok San Primary School in Sok San village, Koh Rong city, Preah Sihanouk, on the morning of August 30, 2025. Resort representative Mario Piazza and principal យ៉ង់ រតនា took part in the handover, with acting Koh Rong mayor រាជ សុវណ្ណ in attendance. Rapper VannDa and his supporters contributed US$4,925.45. The Royal Sands Koh Rong and its guests contributed US$976.40. Piazza, vice president of the Cambodia Hotel Association for Preah Sihanouk and the islands and the resort’s general manager, said every child deserved clean and safe drinking water. Daily access to safe water, he said, was essential for students’ health, well-being and education. Healthy children learn and grow better and can dream bigger, he said. The resort had therefore committed to providing the system so that all local pupils could benefit from a reliable, effective water supply. Piazza thanked VannDa and the resort guests who contributed, along with the project team, partners and school leaders who helped deliver the system. He urged the pupils to use it wisely and take good care of it, with hope for a brighter future. The handover, he said, was also the start of further efforts to support education, health and sustainability on the island and in the community. On behalf of the school’s 130 teachers and students, the principal welcomed the new system and thanked The Royal Sands Koh Rong and pledged to use the system according to their needs.
