Global Finance gives Cambodia’s Chea Serey an A− rating
The National Bank of Cambodia said its governor had earned a high grade for the second year in a row.

The National Bank of Cambodia said on August 30, 2025 that Governor Chea Serey had earned high marks from Global Finance in both of her first two years in the job. The magazine awarded her an A− in 2025 for effective central-bank leadership.
Other high scorers included European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, Philippine central bank Governor Eli Remolona and Monetary Authority of Singapore Managing Director Chia Der Jiun.
The magazine grades central bankers from about 100 countries and jurisdictions on monetary policy effectiveness, including economic growth, currency stability, inflation control and exchange-rate management. Only those who earn A−, A or A+ are named on this honour list.
