On the morning of September 3, 2025, Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence facilitated the departure of the Interim Observer Team (IOT) for Pursat province. The five-country team comprises Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines and Vietnam. It was led by Colonel Nazlee bin Abdul Rahim, Malaysia’s defence attaché in Cambodia, to observe, verify and report on post-ceasefire conditions along the border. The mission stems from the July 28, 2025 special meeting in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and the extraordinary Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) meeting that concluded on August 7, 2025.
