Preah Sihanouk Provincial Television, September 3 — On September 2, Cambodia’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the Anhui Education Development Foundation signed a memorandum in Phnom Penh to establish a Cambodia–China vocational skills development and certification centre, the Huijiang Workshop. Labour Minister Heng Suor and Ling Shuangying, secretary-general of the Anhui International Vocational Education Development Alliance, jointly presided.
The memorandum aims to strengthen technical and vocational education and training (TVET) cooperation. The partners plan a high-level platform for vocational training and skills certification focused on curricula, teacher training and student exchanges, with a view to meeting international standards.
Heng Suor said the countries’ longstanding cooperation would help teachers and students adapt to technological change and industrial upgrading. He said the project could also attract more foreign investment to Cambodia, particularly from China.
Ling thanked the Cambodian side for its support. She said the partnership would advance training and mutual recognition of skills in fields including e-commerce, new-energy vehicle technology and computer science.
Both sides said the centre would be a milestone in vocational education cooperation and create more opportunities for young people in both countries.
