Preah Sihanouk Provincial Television, September 3 — Preah Sihanouk province planned three days of sports tourism from September 7 to 9, 2025, to showcase its tourism and investment potential and attract domestic and international visitors.
The opening was scheduled for September 7 under senior Tourism Ministry officials and Governor Mang Sineth. The provincial tourism department organised the event with private businesses to attract more visitors during the green season.
Deputy Governor Samut Sothearith said the programme included a 30-kilometre mountain bike race, a 7-kilometre run, men’s beach volleyball and the province’s first table football competition. Local products would also be exhibited.
Provincial tourism department director Taing Sochet Krisna said another sports tourism festival was planned for October 29–30 on Koh Rong to extend the green-season programme.
Organisers said the programme would include cultural performances such as the Naga Princess dance, a symbol of the province’s place in Cambodian culture. Authorities had deployed security personnel and arranged medical staff and ambulances at key venues.
The department urged hotels, guesthouses and businesses to improve service, maintain hygiene and avoid price gouging. Organisers hoped visitors would enjoy the event and that it would give local tourism new momentum.
