Cambodia’s Senate President Hun Sen publicly advised The Nation Thailand on October 23, criticising its recent reporting on Cambodia as unprofessional and urging it to “focus first on Thailand’s domestic affairs” rather than speculate about Cambodian politics. In a social-media post, Samdech Hun Sen said: “I suggest they look more closely at what is happening inside Thailand rather than spend time guessing Cambodia’s political future.” He remarked humorously that he had already held power when some Thai journalists had not yet been born or were still “running around naked”, and that he understood Cambodian politics deeply. “Some Thai journalists do not even understand their own country’s situation, yet try to comment on Cambodia’s political circumstances.” Samdech Hun Sen also urged Thai media to closely follow developments concerning Thailand’s government after parliament’s dissolution and an early election in 2026, saying “that is what they should really be concerned about”. “As for Cambodia, we can manage our own affairs. There is no need to turn Thailand’s domestic stories into news about Cambodia,” he stressed. Samdech Hun Sen ended his remarks with the line: “If you want to play, don’t get angry; if you’re angry, don’t play.” Compiled by the station
