Phnom Penh: H.E. Stefan Messerer, Germany’s Ambassador to Cambodia, said cashews and pepper are not ordinary products, but symbols of Cambodia’s cultural heritage and the hard work of Khmer farmers. Speaking at the Cambodia Cashew and Pepper Trade Forum 2025, he said: “When someone buys cashews or pepper labelled ‘Made in Cambodia’ in Berlin, Paris or Brussels, I hope they understand that these products symbolise quality, pride and sustainability.” He added that Germany is proud to work with Cambodia and the European Union to strengthen production value chains, promote sustainability and make ‘Made in Cambodia’ a globally recognised mark of quality. The Cambodia Cashew and Pepper Trade Forum 2025 aims to promote Khmer agricultural products, secure broader recognition for them and increase opportunities for exports to international markets.
