Barring changes, Cambodia’s national airline Air Cambodia was to introduce a direct service from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to Tokyo, Japan, on October 26. According to Cambodia’s Tourism Ministry, the new direct service would begin on October 26, 2025, operated by Air Cambodia. At the time, 32 airlines operated flights into and out of Techo International Airport. Tourism Minister Huot Hak described the service as a positive sign of further aviation-sector success and a boost to tourism, reflecting the efforts of the government and the ministry. In its first phase, the international airport was planned to accommodate up to 13 million passengers annually. Aviation analytics company Cirium’s report projected 31,579 flights for Cambodia in 2025, up 14.2% against the corresponding period of 2024. Available passenger seats were projected to reach 5,182,864, up 14.7% year on year. The report described this as showing Cambodia’s development into one of Asia’s vibrant, rapidly growing tourism destinations. Sihanoukville Provincial Television. By: ង៉ែត ពិសាន្ត
