Thai police raided a rented house in Mae Rim district, Chiang Mai province, on October 30 and arrested 20 Chinese nationals suspected of online fraud: 16 men and four women. Computers and mobile phones were seized.
The suspects had entered on tourist visas and had allegedly operated online scams from the rented house for more than two months. About ten others remained at large and were being pursued.
