It was the third consecutive year the embassy held the ceremony marking the end of the war in front of the monument called “Two Figures”, symbolizing French–Cambodian friendship and shared history. Originally built in 1925 and destroyed by the Khmer Rouge, it was later rebuilt by the Cambodian government and officially inaugurated on July 14, 2023.
The commemoration honoured the soldiers’ heroic sacrifices and reaffirmed the two countries’ strong friendship, sustained through peace and military and cultural cooperation.
