On the afternoon of December 5, Cambodia’s Acting Head of State Hun Sen visited the coast of Preah Sihanouk province to relax and swim, accompanied by provincial Governor Mang Sineth. Several recent photographs were subsequently posted on his official social-media account, attracting public attention.
In the post, he said he had not been there for more than two years. Although the scenery had changed little, his roles had changed significantly—from prime minister to president of the Senate and president of the King’s Supreme Privy Advisory Council, and now acting head of state. He wrote that this return to the seaside offered a brief rest in his new roles while expressing his sense of responsibility for continuing to handle national affairs.
