Svay Rieng police seized more than 44 kilograms of drugs and four handguns in a March 18 operation in Bavet, detaining five suspects in a drug case: four Vietnamese nationals and one Chinese national.
Brigadier General Keo Sotha, deputy provincial police chief responsible for anti-drug work, said on March 25 that provincial anti-drug officers and Bavet police had jointly conducted the operation and detained five people. A case file was being prepared for court.
The operation followed instructions from National Police Commissioner General Sar Thet and Svay Rieng police chief Major General Pech Vireak, under the direct command of Brigadier General Keo Sotha and with legal coordination by a deputy provincial prosecutor.
