Acting on instructions from National Police Commissioner Sar Thet, Svay Rieng police raided a suspected drug-manufacturing and illegal-firearms site in Bavet on March 18. The operation targeted a cross-border drug-crime network and detained several people at the scene.
Police detained five suspects: four Vietnamese men and a 28-year-old Chinese man surnamed Chen. They reported seizing 44.76 kilograms of drugs, including ketamine, ecstasy, heroin and opium paste, along with substantial manufacturing equipment and a powder described as “Charlie”. The report does not identify that powder’s composition.
Officers also seized four handguns, 200 rounds of ammunition and a car. Svay Rieng’s anti-drug unit was preparing case files to refer the suspects and evidence to court.
