Ten Vietnamese nationals, including six women, were deported from Cambodia by the General Department of Immigration on October 26, 2026, after being found to be involved in residing without passports, working illegally and using narcotics.

The deportation took place through the Prek Chak International Border Checkpoint police post in Kampot province, following recommendations from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha and instructions from Lt. Gen. Sok Veasna, Director-General of the General Department of Immigration, for the Department of Investigation and Procedure Implementation to take action in accordance with the law.

The measure is in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policy under Prime Minister Hun Manet to crack down on offences and prevent offenders from using Cambodian territory for fraud or other crimes that undermine regional and global security. Under the leadership of the Minister of Interior, the authorities have continued to strengthen efforts against technology-related crime, investigate ringleaders and rescue victims who have been deceived, so they can regain their freedom and return safely to their home countries.
The law enforcement action against foreign nationals who violate Cambodian law is intended to help maintain peace, social stability and public safety within the Kingdom of Cambodia.
