Officers from the Public Order Police Office of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police, working with the provincial administration, provided guidance and addressed irregular parking by heavy trucks with trailers along Prek Treng Beach to improve the appearance and traffic safety of the tourist area.
The operation took place on the morning of October 27, 2026, under the guidance of Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province, and Lt. Gen. Sar Ratha, Deputy Commissioner-General of the National Police and Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Commissioner. Major Chan Pichrasmey, head of the Public Order Police Office, led specialist officers to Prek Treng Beach in Village 3, Sangkat 1, Sihanoukville city.
During the operation, officers and the provincial administration instructed owners and drivers of container trucks parked along the beach road and on road reserves without observing traffic signs to comply with the law and find proper parking locations. The provincial administration also coordinated and recommended several official parking locations so drivers could park in an orderly manner.
Irregular heavy-truck parking at Prek Treng Beach, one of Preah Sihanouk province’s important tourist areas, can affect the area’s appearance, disrupt tourist travel and create risks of traffic accidents and congestion.
The Preah Sihanouk provincial administration also called on transport companies, business owners and all heavy-truck drivers to help maintain public order by avoiding stopping or parking on the carriageway, road reserves along the coast and other public roads.
Complying with regulations and parking in designated locations will help reduce congestion, improve traffic safety and keep the tourist city of Sihanoukville more orderly and attractive.
