The operation uncovered more than eight tonnes of undersized clams prohibited by law, including 60 sacks already packed and clams aboard four boats, ready to be loaded onto trucks for use as animal feed.

Following the operation, the joint force confiscated the clams and released them back into Tonle Sap Lake to help protect fisheries resources and the local ecosystem. The four boats used to transport the clams were also seized and temporarily held at the Chhnok Tru station pending further action under the relevant procedures.

Officials educated the four male boat owners and two female truck owners and had them sign undertakings before allowing them to return home. The operation reflected the joint force’s continued efforts to combat fisheries offenses, particularly the collection and transport of prohibited undersized clams, to help conserve fisheries resources in Tonle Sap Lake.
