The awards ceremony for the 2026 Cambodia Green Season Tourism Video Contest was recently held in the conference hall of the Ministry of Tourism in Phnom Penh.

According to information provided about the contest, 83 domestic and international creators registered for the contest, which received 60 entries and achieved cumulative exposure of 60 million impressions. Through short videos, the entries presented Cambodia’s natural scenery, history and culture, distinctive cuisine and local life, helping viewers discover more lesser-known tourism destinations.

Mohammat Younes, Under-Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism, said the contest was an important project under the national Green Season tourism promotion strategy. It encouraged broader public participation in tourism promotion around six highlights: must-see, must-stay, must-taste, must-visit, must-try and must-buy.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak said “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” was a national tourism strategy focusing on attracting visitors from May to October each year and moving tourism beyond its traditional dry-season concentration towards more balanced year-round development. He also said Prime Minister Hun Manet had been briefed on the contest’s results and had expressed appreciation for the organisers and all participants.

The ceremony announced the first-, second- and third-place winners, as well as several special and honorary awards. In addition to cash, a trophy and a certificate, the winner will be appointed an official goodwill ambassador for content creation for Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism and will receive prizes including flights and five-star hotel accommodation.

The event aims to use short videos and the creativity of local content creators to show international visitors a more diverse Cambodia and further enhance the country’s appeal as a tourism destination.
