Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, undersecretary of state and spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, said Thailand continued armed military aggression against Cambodia’s territorial integrity, using military forces, heavy weapons and overwhelming troop deployments with the aim of encroaching on Cambodian territory. In an update on the Cambodia–Thailand border situation as of the morning of December 11, 2025, she said Thai forces had attacked Cambodian troops and civilians first. She said Thai firing into Military Regions 4 and 5 that morning violated the ceasefire and the joint declaration on the Cambodia–Thailand peace agreement signed in October. The spokesperson said that, as of the morning of December 11, Thai forces had opened fire into Cambodian sovereign territory in Military Region 4, Oddar Meanchey province, beginning at 04:40 with artillery fire in the Khna temple area. She said Thai forces also attacked Cambodian civilians that morning in Prey Chan village, Ou Bei Choan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, in Military Region 5. She added that Thai forces shelled Prey Chan, a village inhabited by civilians, at 07:52. She condemned what she described as fierce, indiscriminate Thai military attacks as a serious violation of international humanitarian law. By: KPS99TV
