Chhai Sinarith told British Ambassador to Cambodia Dominic Williams on November 11 of the Cambodian government’s firm commitment to eliminating technology-enabled scams. An anti-scam commission mechanism had been established in addition to existing mechanisms to coordinate subnational authorities’ efforts to eradicate scams in their localities.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation with international partners through participation in investigations and exchanges of information and experience, to rigorously prevent and counter scams and investigate their masterminds and organised networks.
In response, the ambassador expressed interest in establishing contact with the ad hoc commission combating technology-enabled scams to promote mutual assistance and cooperation against such crimes.
