Japan provided over US$3 billion in financing for Cambodian projects by June 2026

By June 2026, Japan’s concessional financing covered 25 Cambodian projects worth more than ¥422 billion, or about US$3.515 billion, under 39 agreements. Twelve projects were ongoing and 13 completed. The figures were reported alongside a July 15 farewell meeting with Ambassador UENO Atsushi.

Cambodia destroys over 2.3 tonnes of seized drugs and chemicals linked to 190 cases

Cambodian authorities held a destruction ceremony in Preah Sihanouk on July 16 for drugs, production chemicals and related items linked to 190 cases. They reported 2,323 kg of drugs and chemicals, covering 165 cases with final judgments and 25 carried out under court destruction orders.
